Exclamation Equa Flex equalizers failure

Began to install the new wet bolts. Discovered the the Lippert Equa Flex equalizers rubber insert is as hard as a rock and even has some little chunks missing from them.

Anybody expierence a failure of this sort?

Thinking of replacing the Equa Flex with the Dexter E Z Flex equalizer.

Any opinion of which equalizer is a better choice?

Got to make a quick decision before our upcoming trip.

There's been a lot of discussion on the Redwood forums about this. I have no experience with the Dexter, but if I were to replace mine I would choose either the Dexter, MorRyde SRE 4000, or LCI Center Point, all have great reviews.

The rubber inserts are supposed to be hard, just like the jounced bumpers on your car suspension.

I understand that, but what concerns me is the chipping and gouges on the bumpers. Plus, they look like they have crystalized.

Have you called Lippert?
I would also suggest a call to etrailer. They have some very knowledgeable friendly people there.

Tried Lippert today, but they are closed. Will try etrailer.

Well, etrailer says the rubber bumper cannot be replaced. You have to replace the whole equalizer. So, ordered a pair of Dexter EZ flex equalizers. In hindsight, I should have ordered the whole wetbolt/ equalizer kit together.

Mark while you go about this job, how about taking some pictures? I know I would like to see what it looks like from start--during--and thru the finish, and I feel sure some of the other members might also.
Especially those Lippert Equa Flex equalizers rubber inserts you first mentioned. Also what the new Dexter EZ flex equalizers look like.

Yes Mark,

I'm considering this also. Finishing the front (bedroom) AC now and that maybe next.

Thanks,
