We have a 2009 CF32BL and was wondering if anyone has seen or have done an up grade on the storage compartment door lock. The doors only have one lock in the middle of the door. I would like to have those black latches to replace the little knobs that are on there now like I have seen on other 5er's. It seems like this would make the storage area a lot more secure. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

No stronger than the doors are the only thing you will keep out is honest people regardless of how good or many locks the door has. I would be more concerned if it has adequate seal against water and wind.

Easy to get into is right...locked or not. I remember when a lady I was camped next to was all perplexed because her husband had gone fishing with their new trailer keys in his pocket. She needed something out of the storage and asked if I'd give her a ride to the dealer 5 miles away to get another key. Imagine her surprise when I pulled out my "universal 751" key and opened her storage door for her.

Sounds like these storage compartment locks are worthless. Looks like one less mod I will be doing, but I'm sure i'll find something to replace it. Thanks for the info everyone.

There are replacement locks. Just do a Google search and you should come up with a bunch.

Ace locks are available. They are keyed like vending machines, round and hollow type. Not as many master keys for them. You can get them from most dealers. Easy to install.

my front storage uses 751 key but my slam latch luggage doors on the pass thru don't. are they still universal with other slam latches?

Matt, I asked my dealer last week, about the Rushmore "slam latch" door locks. He said they were all keyed alike too?!?!?!?!

Here's a option that I looked into when we purchase our unit.. Again looked into it, but then figured if it looks more secure their must more valuables items behind that closed door.

I did like the option of not worrying about carrying a key or getting a key from inside.

These "combi-cam" locks, will not fit inside the handles of the slam latch doors, unless you punch new holes in the doors.

I 100% agree that they are not very secure, especially if they are keyed alike; but i still lock mine anyways- just a force of habit i guess. just like locking the front door on my house.

I really don't think the locks work that well against anyone that wants to steal anything. I just lock mine to make sure they don't fly open while traveling.

You can get similar locks at Home Depot, Lowes, Office Depot, Camping World, etc. Take an old one with you. Some places have keyed-alike pairs. Of course, a locksmith can make you a set keyed alike, too.

As was said, they won't stop anyone who really wants to get in, but at least they won't have the "universal" key.

Might prevent some smart-aleck from unlocking the doors while you are having lunch just to watch the doors fly open as you leave.

I changed the cam locks on all of my outside compartments and just left

the turn locks as is. Was able to find 4 keyed alike and the change out

was reallty simple. At least the 751 key doesn't work them any more.
