2003 Cruiser M-26 Axle Configuration

Hi there!

I have a 2003 Cruiser fifth-wheel and I am trying to figure out if the axles sit below the springs from the factory or not. I bought the fifth-wheel used from the dealer, therefore I am not sure; the dealer said they could charge a diagnostic fee to confirm axle placement starting at $115. Obviously I would like to avoid this. Right now it is obvious the axles are below the spring hanger and I see no indication of new brackets being welded on the axle. My assumption is the axles were simply flipped as the driver side is really wearing the most inner sides of the tires. I just purchased new tires and want to prevent the premature inner tire wear.

Attached is a picture of how the fifth-wheel sits behind my Duramax with a 4 inch lift on 35" tires.

Thank you in advance!!

On my 2012 the axle is below the spring.

I installed new tires last fall on our fifth wheel. They have about 5000 miles on them so far. They seem to be wearing better than the original tires. I had the new ones balanced - that has to help.

Towing with a lifted truck and towing the trailer behind your fifth wheel will put more weight on trailer tires and may cause some abnormal wear.
