Has anyone added a handrail to the interior steps on a fifth wheel? Is thereanyplace there to securely fasten one? Will be having hip replacement surgery within next few weeks and a handrail would be extremely helpful.

HI.I HAVE NOT DONE YOUR PROJECT, BUT I AM THINKING (DANGEROUS I KNOW) YOUR WALL STUDS ARE 16" on CENTER THEY WOULD AFFORD A GOOD MOUNT POINT. I WOULD THINK A MEDICAL SUPPLY WOULD HAVE SEVERAL HAND RAIL OPTIONS DESIGNED FOR SECURE MOUNTING. IT WOULD BE PRUDENT TO GIVE CROSSROADS A CALL TO DISCOVER IF THERE IS ANYTHING CRUCIAL YOU COULD DAMAGE IN THAT SECTION OF INTERIOR WALL.ON YOUR PARTICULAR MODEL. GOOD LUCK ON THE SURGERY. I HOPE OTHERS WILL COME UP WITH SUGGESTIONS.

My only thoughts would be to kep in mind they are a metal stud and not wood so just a regular screw might not be the best idea.

I have installed a home made coat rack in that area on four Crossroads products that have the 16" O.C. aluminum studs and I think a hand rail would be very easy to install. The only negative would be that the hand rail might be slightly in the way at that level.

Have thought about installing one but think a rail would take up too much space...maybe installing a piece of crown molding would suffice as a handle and there is the interior wall too...

Would a couple of these (or something similar) mounted to a stud work?
