Does anyone know why the light above the kitchen table on a 2008cf30sk is 110 volt?? We dry camp and it seems a little weird thats the only light in the entire unit thats on 110 is there a way to rewire it to 12 volts ...

My '07 30sk was that way and so is my '10 30sk. I believe it is the only 110 volt lite in the trailer. Perhaps the answer is that there is no 12 volt power avaiable in that particular slideout, only 110 volt.

I have a 2004 CT30RL and my slide out has 12V lights in the slide out, and alot of them.

The light over the table is 110V but there is also a light closer to the outsidewall that is 12V by the end of thetable. It also has a a sconce light, two reading lights and another double standard light over the couch, all of these are 12V and are in the slide. The only 110V light in the slide is the one over the table.

If you have the 12V light by the table closer to the outside wall, you maybe able to tap into that light and run it over to the 110V light and convert it like that.

Ahha just found a weather proof box behind the couch its the 110 volt wires ...Outside where the wire run into the box there are 12volt wires right next to the 110 wire...spliced into the 12 volt wires drilled a new hole through the floor in to the box inside the slide ...dissconnected the 110 and hooked up the new 12 volt wires...now the light is 12 volt and replaced the outlet by the table with a 12 votl outlet... just wont have 110 in the slide

That 120 V light over the table has always irritated me.
Thanks for the info on the electric box. I will have to see if my unit has the same thing. Just never got around to searching it out.

We also found it annoying, so we pullled the wires from the 12 volt fixture under the cupboard by the table, bought a 12 volt bulb to fit the light and converted it to 12 volt. Works great.

I finally got around to looking at this darn 120 volt light today. I don't have an electric box any where near to work from, so I had to drag some wire from the lights over the sofa. That was kind of tricky but there is wire hanging out over the dinette table now just waiting for the new Command Electronics LED light to arrive.

Hi, Just came across this discussion &amp; here’s why I

was glad for that 110 lite over our table.

</span>We were on our 1st away from home camping trip, when the

converter burned out that light was the only light we had to see with, since

the battery was soon out of juice. </span>You may

want to second guess as to not having any 110 lights. </span>You may need one down the road.

Makes good sense to me. Since I have both a 12v and 110v light above my table, I never wondered or questioned the design.
