first time out with new 33BH

Hi all, my family and I just had our shake down trip with out new camper over memorial day weekend. Happy to say no major issues at all! Only a few small things. The first one being that the BH door that least from the kitchen doesn't latch shut. I tried to re-level the camper but still doesn't shut. I guess I will have to make the hole bigger. The second one is more of an anoinance. When we hit the antenna button we loose the radio. So, if someone watches TV from inside and I want to listen to 80's music outside I better break out my iPod.. Any ideas on how to fix that?? I can tell you that the electric jack on the front is a god send. I have the 4500lb one with the key fob. Couldnt be easer to level from front to rear. Also noticed that the 2 vents in the outdoor kitchen leads to the bunk house had a direct view into it. Letting in bugs and noisey teenagers. I think I am going to remove one side and place a screen between them. Also noticed the the "mount TV bracket here" sticker must be for effect since they are not even close to a stud. I had to use a piece of ply wood for the front bedroom and off set the one in the living room. I am 5' 7 3\4. The bumper grill worked great but I found out the hard way that you can't put a cheese burger on the top rack and put the lid down unless you want some extra flovoring and the grill is at about chest level. My arms were so tired and sore I almost had to use a fork to eat my burger. But after all that we had a great trip and loved our new rig!!

I'm glad you had fun and I enjoyed your review! Too bad about the grill being so high.

Sorry about the misspellings. Auto correct is not so correct all the time! Oh ya, the grill is at chest level. Not cheek level. ( I'm not that short ). I looked at some of the camper TV mounts and couldn't see spending that much money on one so I went to eBay and got 2 cheap mounts and then got a 30' roll of double sided velcro. When I mounted my TV mount I placed the Velcro strap through the screws on the mount and cut to the correct length so that when I am in travel mode I just strap the tv using the velco to take the weight off the mounts . Works perfect and I used the saved money for some liquid refreshments and to replace the cheese that now so beautifuly decorates my grill lid. I used some of the Velcro scraps to wrap around some of the drawer handles to keep them from opening while going down the road

You can edit it after. I often have to do that. I fixed a couple of them.

I still have 3 perfect cheeseburger stains on my lid too. However, I think it was my liquid refreshments that caused me to do it!

Well at least I'm not the only 1 who found out the hard way about the grill lid. Anyone have any idea what to do about the radio.

Couldn't you just disconnect the TV from the sound system and let the fam watch it on it's own sound? That way, you would have the radio to do with as you please.

I also enjoyed your review. Glad you are liking your new camper.

The issue is with the antenna button where I screw in the coax for the cable/antenna. It has the antenna on/off button. With the button in the on position for we can't get cable. Only over the air channels and radio stations. With the button off we can receive cable but not the radio. The radio isn't hooked into the TV with the exception of the y/r/w rca plugs for the DVD player. I hope that helps explain better what's going on

On my 33BH the only things running to the antenna amp is the Coax from the antenna and the outside cable input and then the lines out to the TV's and the 12v that powers the antenna amp and the 12v aux port. Not really sure how you could be loosing the sound from the radio when you turn off the amp. Does the entire Radio loose power when you turn off the amp? or Just sound? You wont get cable with the amp button on when hooked up to cable via your outside connection. The YRW RCA's are supplying the audio and vidoe feed from the Radio/DVD player to the TV.

Probably not much help here but just trying to walk though this all.
