Zinger ZT30KB Feedback

Hi
I was thinking of purchasing a 2014 Zinger 30KB. We love the floor plan and looking for some feedback on the trailer.

How long is the trailer, the specifications say 33'10", is this the box of the trailer or does it include the tongue?

Also does anyone know if the electric awning has LED lights on the awning?

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 V8 Hemi with 3.92 rear end with the towing package. Ram says the tow capacity is 10,000. The weight dry on this trailer is 6800 lbs and I believe the carrying capacity is 2500.

I would be upgrading from a hybrid which weighed about 5500 lbs. We are exciting with the upgrade but a little nervous with the length and towing.

Should be OK with a good weight distribution/sway control set-up. I pull. ST Reserve 30RE (overall length 34.5ft) with a 2010 Ram 1500 with Hemi and 3:92 rear. Last summer the only concern was the squirrelly feeling when a semi passed me. I have since upgraded to load range E tires hoping this will reduce that issue a bit. A 3/4 ton would be ideal but wife said NO!

Thanks

Thanks

I'm taking the trailer for a test tow today, if everything works out I'll be bringing it home next week. Our first camping trip is scheduled for next weekend. The dealer is going to install the electric tongue and the Air Max vent covers for me before taking it home.

Share results. We have a 32QB (same trailer, bunks instead of outside kitchen)...I am thinking 3/4 ton, but would like to know how your 1/2-ton Dodge does.

Towing

So pulling with the HEMI was a breeze, no struggling at all. There was some sag on the rear end. The dealer suggested getting AIR Bags for the suspension to help with the load on the rear end. It was very windy yesterday, and it did not have a sway bar on it. So I can not give a full report on the handling of it. On the back roads the trailer was fine, stopping, accelerating and turning.

Not sure of the cost of the air bags, still waiting for dealers to get back to me on this.

Check out a set of these
.http://timbren.com/
They just might do the job for you, and they're a lot cheaper then air bags.

X2 on the Timbren. I actually used the Firestone version of these, but same concept, and they don't effect your unloaded ride!

The only problem you might run into would be further down the road with transmission problems as I found out from past experiences with these type of situations

We have the 2013 Zinger 30KB and really like it. We tow with a Toyota Tundra with a 4.6L engine that is a bite sluggish in the mountains. We will probably upgrade to a 5.7L in the future.

Adding sway bars will make all the difference in the world. We have the Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution on ours and it really works well.

Good luck and enjoy this unit.
