This will be our first too. We do not have the snow but the trip is planned out and just counting the days. Had the camper home for the last few days waxing and getting it ready to go.

Keith, have you told all the people who are attending the rally for the first time that they need to be sure and leave their coolers sitting outside at night? I heard it helps to attract a Squatch

The turnip truck didn't run yesterday..

Keith when you plan on getting there? I figure you'll be about the first and if I get there real soon after then no-one gets to enjoy my parking show.

We hope to be there by noon on Thursday.

Since Hal is parked next to us our sites will be the official cooler inspection station. Just drop them as you come in and we will make sure all your adult beverages meet the local requirements. Of course those requirements are created by us.......

Lloyd, same deal on those venison snacks. Just drop them by and we will make sure you are not bringing anything suspicious into Texas. We can't be to careful you know.....

I also wanted to add that since I am a member of the Redwood forum and they are part of the Crossroads family I have extended an invitation to any of them that might want to join us at the rally. We only have a few sites left but it was something Dave and I had talked about doing before he left. We will see if we get any takers from over there.

My wife and I have accepted a workcamper position with the City of Grapevine beginning about March 1 and ending at the end of September or October (our choice). This means we will, in all likelihood, not be attending the rally in April. Our contract has not been signed by the city manager as of now but should be within the next week. I am not going to cancel our reservation for site 6001 until we get the official approval but it is almost a done deal. Once I do cancel I will notify Keith so he can let y'all know. 6001 is a great location and very close to Keith's Cooler Inspection Station.
Any of you coming through the DFW area and planning on staying the night I would recommend The Vineyards Campgrounds. In my opinion The Vineyards is the nicest campground we have seen. It is owned and operated by the City of Grapevine and is in a great location. It was recently named as one of USA Today's top ten campgrounds. No, we are not workcamping there but at the day use Rockledge Park on the north side of Grapevine Lake. Lloyd, you could still come by with some of that delicious coffee we are going to miss!

Art, Isn't that the suburbs of DFW? I would stop by but I'm afraid a country bumpkin like me would get lost in that big metropolis and never find his way out!!

Just north of DFW Airport. Right off the major freeways. Easy to find and well worth the effort. Beside which, how would we get some of that coffee???????????

Well the coffee was wonderful last year and the venison snacks sound good but lest we forget Lloyd is also the owner of one of the prettiest roofs ever shown on the forum.Have you started a list for solvit roof cleanings at the rally.

Art, I think your best bet would be to take a day off from that new gig, and drive down to Kerrville for the day. I don't plan to come down thru DFW.

Not only a suburb of DFW but about the most traffic congested and construction zoned part of the metromess.

See, that is the challenge: get your 35+ foot RV through the traffic! Does it get any better?

I sure wish I could bottle up the weather today for the rally. When I went home for lunch it was 82* and clear as a bell.

Keith-

You're killin' me! Just came in from shoveling 6 inches new snow. Joyce is volunteering at the library today so I didn't get any help. Send your weather out way!

But the temperatures are supposed to plunge to the chilly 50s in a day or two!
