Atwood water heater circuit board meltdown

Hi all. We are on the first day of holidays today and have a no hot water issue. After inspecting all I knew how, I discovered a melted thru circuit board.
The tank is full, but the switch may have been accidentally turned on at home sometime with no water. I don't know for sure, but the dw is trying to diagnose the problem with me 😨😨, and that is her suggestion.
Is there anything else I should check before I replace the board??
Thanks

I can't answer your question, but here are a couple links I brought up.
If you don't find an answer in these links, do a search on water hearters. There is a lot of info posted on the subject.

Thanks Lloyd. I checked those links you provided, nothing applicable there. I will search for more.
Thought I put the model # in my post, guess I forgot. It is a gas only G6A 8E Attwood.

Look in our Document section. There is a Attwood manual you can check out.
