Height
Has anyone ever actually measured the height of their unit? Mine is listed at 11 ft. 2 inches and I see that a lot of the sunset trailer super lites say that same thing. Maybe not a lot, but the ones I've looked up.
I was wondering if they put a "safety factor" in there or if that is really the actual height.
Since the gravel, grading, and concrete pour, my shop which was built to be 12 ft high is now 11 ft. 2 inches high at the door and the trusses. I built it a long time before I bought this trailer. It was never a problem until now.
I know I can always try and back it in with spotters, but since I'm bored I just thought I'd ask.

I measured mine before I would even take delivery. It was suppose to be
11ft. 8in. and that is what it is.
My building has 12 ft. sidewalls, so it had to fit before I would accept it.
If your sidewalls are 12ft. and your door go's up to the ceiling joist, you shouldn't have any problems. Of course it all depends on what you had put in for a door. That has to be as high as the joist.
If you have any doubts on the height of your rig, have somebody help you. Go up on the roof with a four ft. level with a straight stick taped to it. Lay it across the AC unit, or what ever is the highest point on the trailer. Have a tape measure hooked on the end of stick. Keep the level level and have the person on the ground read the tape measure.

I have sliding doors on this pole barn, I built it in the early 90's I think. I measured from the concrete up to the drip rail above the door opening and I get 11 ft 2.5 inches.

Did you not hold the top of door up to the header/ceiling joist height?
Or, did you pour the concrete after all else was finished?

It's a sliding door on the outside of the barn on a track above the opening.
We had a tornado in 2012, it took half the barn down. They built me a new one. I didn't have a trailer so I built the new one at 10 ft.
Insurance wouldn't pay to tear down the old one so I cabled it off, and then rebuilt it after everything calmed down and I got the house and other stuff fixed.. So now I have 2.
Anyway, when I had the grading and concrete done, the height to my trusses from the concrete floor ended up being right around 11 ft 2.5 inches.

One thing, I guess I'll find out for sure in a week and a half when this job ends and I pull it home.
Unless the wife wants to go on another day or 2 camping trip before our January trip to florida.

Literature was accurate for both of my units.
Ours sits a little higher than the Sunsets. I wouldn't trust it under anything less than 12ft. Actual height is 11'-6".

Don't laugh at your idea, it works. put some air back in after yo get it in with someone on the roof watching.
If your trusses are set right ,you should be able to put the top of the AC between 2 trusses.

You may be able gain a little removing the AC cover if that is the high spot. Would using a smaller size tire before putting it into the building be an option?

Ours was posted at 10ft 10 inches and that is what it was. We gained about an 1 inch after it was loaded. You could change to a low profile ac and gain about 4 inches.
