Hot water tank

I was dewinterizing my CF30SK, and when I turned the by-pass for the hot water tank, water blew out of where the outlet goes into the top of the tank.

The tank is an Atwood GCH10A-4E, which means it's gas/electric with a 10 gallon tank. So, I have two questions
1. Can this be brazed?
2. Have any of you ever changed the tank yourself? If so, what was your
experience?

I am sure it could probably be repaired...I would think MIG or TIG WELD is the way to go in such a tight space...I for one would like to know how you make out with this problem...

Not looking good. Looks like I'll be shelling out for a new tank. I can't find anyone who'll try it weld it.

I would think if you did find some one to weld it they would want the WH out of the camper, and if you have to take it out you might as well buy new...Just keep any parts off the old heater as you can assuming you are buying the same brand WH...

sleepyT,
Thanks for the info. I've already ordered a new tank, by RV dealer got me the best price, so far, and he'll be swapping the parts over to the new one. Expensive, but the only way to go. I've really racked my brains trying to figure out why the thing cracked, and the only thing I can come up with, are the road conditions?
Oh well, going to go visit our son in Ft. Drum for two weeks, so it'll be ready to go by the time we get back.

I think you made the right choice...Enjoy your visit with your son and tell him this old Marine says " Thank you for your service"
