I Broke the Shower Handle

We have been in our Sunset Trail 300 BH for a week...I couldn't take the shower water pressure...or lack of any. So I decided to look for the regulator or whatever it is that is slowing down the pressure. I read the posts on here and figured I'd give it a go...well, no go!

I got the hose unscrewed from the base, but in the process, I'm pretty sure I cracked something. I tend to be a little heavy handed with tools. Water coming out at the base and running down wall.

Anyone that can help me I would so appreciate it.

Where is the water comming out of the fixture.?? Does water still flow even if the shower handles are in the off position.??? If so go to the city water connection and turn it off. If the water was still running with the shower handles in the off position you will have to replace the shower fixture.

Check the ring where you tighten the hose to the base, I tried to replace the head on mine and broke the ring with hand pressure.

Breaking the ring is probably a great possibility...as I said, I tend to do everything just a bit too hard!

Did the black washer fall out of the end of the hose before you screwed it back on??

If it is the standard cheapy that goes into RV's, then don't try and fix it. It probably cracked the main body. On the opposite wall to the shower (behind the shower valve) there should be a panel giving access to the valve connection and water lines. Turn your water off and disconnect the water lines. Remove the holding nuts and remove the valve. Take it to Ace (some) or an RV parts dealer and just replace it.

Harley could have your solution. Check and see if the washer is still in the end of the shower hose...

Once you get the leak fixed, get an Oxygenics shower head.

This sounds like something my husband would do! He's a walking disaster. He's already broken the tooth off the sewer cap. He was pounding the bumper end cap on with a hammer and hit the corner of the trailer. Fortunately, that didn't do any damage. I've since purchased a new sewer cap and the locking bumper end cap. This end cap is much easier to get on and you push the middle to lock. Also, with our previous camper, he pulled the assist handle right off the outside of the camper. I told him it is an "assist" and not to be putting his entire weight on it to pull himself up the steps! Anyway, I love him and I'll follow him around to keep an eye on his antics!

X4 get an Oxygenics shower head. It makes such a difference. Now, if I could only figure out how to stop the cold water when it is shut off for a few seconds!

Sounds like me and my wife. We've gotten to the point that on a short distance trip, I leave before she does with the camper so I'll have everything set up when she gets there. Otherwise, we're like a pack of badgers trying to get the camper set up, lol.

I read on another forum that if you install a check valve in the line for the shower it will prevent that. I have not tried it, but it is worth looking into. For now I just don't shut the water off.

CW3
I installed a ball valve where the hose is attached to the fixture, because when I bought my Oxygenics it did not have the shut off incorporated in the shower head yet.. I can tell you for sure it does not make any difference where the shut off is when you turn the water back on to rince off the water will be cold for the first couple of seconds.
