Hey everyone,
We have had alot of rain in WNC lately and I have been relentlessly checking the inside of our new fifth wheel for leaks. Everything has been fine except for today when I noticed water in the floor. Upon inspection, I believe the water is leaking from around the skylight and then running through the ceiling. I took a video of a steady leaking coming from one of the ceiling joints and along the edge if the wall. How should I go about addressing this? I can do the fix myself but worry about future rot due to water in the ceiling. Should camping world fix this and to what extent?
Since it is a new unit and under warranty, I would take it in and give them a chance to repair it so it is documented if there are any future issues or damage. I would also inspect for proper repair yourself once you get it back.. Good luck.

Yep, since it's a new unit, I would have it checked out ny dealer, corrected and documented. I would also be concerned with what may have gotten wet in ceiling or wall.

I thought they (Crossroads) push each RV thru their "rain booth" checking for any leaks before they allow it to leave the factory ..?
That's a good point, I'm concerned about the water that could have been leaking in the whole time it was at the sales lot too. I wonder if I could return the unit and use my down payment on another one. We bought new to try to avoid these problems

Apparently they "push" them through rather quickly so they can say "yep, that one is leak free", otherwise they'd have to slow the line progress & they would have to stay at work longer.
Sounds like since its a brand new unit they should take care of it for you. That being said I would second the comment above of going over all of your roof openings with eternabond. I had our unit for just a few months and just to be on the safe side I went over the front and rear seems and all of the skylights and AC with 4" wide eternabond and have never had a water problem and doubt I ever will. That is some really really good stuff!!! Good luck with the dealer and warranty work.
