List for a tool kit?

Hello all,

We just started camping this season and each time we go out I filter through my tools and throw anything I think I may need into a box. I would like to put together a permanent camper tool kit that I can keep on the camper.

Anyone have a list of must have tools that are commonly used on a camping trip?

Thanks in advance,
Craig

rather than piece meal mine, I went out and got a basic kit like this https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb...words=tool+kit

that gave me most of it in a nice compact kit.... then supplemented it with the special things needed.

Another handy item to add might be a 3/8 inch quick release pin for your hitch ball lock, and 1/4 inch quick release depending on your weight distribution hitch, just incase a person could be so unlucky as to lose one of those rascals. A few spare bulbs that light the inside trailer and such is always welcome to have on hand, just incase when your about to do a little reading and that burns out. Floor jack, strong-arm with deep-set socket with the spare tire, flashlight, cordless drill, etc. This was my first year also and the more I serviced, inspected, and stocked the trailer, I noticed and included what I call essentials that I wouldn't travel without.. I even carry a spare 20lb propane, just never know.. I conclude it this way, at home I have almost everything when it comes to tools in the garage, so its pretty tough not to carry that small line of essentials with our second home. First time you really need them, you'll sure be glad you have them.

Do not forget to practice replacing a tire with the spare. make sure the jack is up to the job and you may need a "spark plug "socket that is thin walled to fit into the hole for the nuts. A 4-way or 1/2"breaker bar and a 2' length of copper or galv pipe to make an extension for more leverage to loosen the wheel nuts.

Whatever tools you load you'll have what you don't need & need what you don't have, at least that's been my experience.

Anytime we camp it's with atv's and dirt bikes. My wife gives me a hard time when I lug my toolbox or 2 in the trailer until I need to work on a machine in camp. Years of riding I have come across stuff that needed replacing you wouldn't think needed replacing. I say load for bear, if you don't need it that's good but if you do you're glad.
