Winterizing and the Water Heater by-pass:
·
</span></span>The water heater has been drained.
·
</span></span>The two water heater valves have been turned
(one at the water input the other at the output port )
·
</span></span>I have the pump intake in a bucket of
antifreeze.
·
</span></span>The pump is on and up to pressure.
·
</span></span>All of the cold water faucets have been purged
with antifreeze.
·
</span></span>None of the hot water faucets will produce a
flow.
·
</span></span>Turning either of the water heater valves allows
antifreeze to fill the water heater.
I finally ran a tube between the low point drain tubes and
opened both drain valves. The pump cycled a lot but I did manage to purge the
hot water lines.
Do I need to install an aftermarket by-pass? I thought there
was a check valve on the water heater to prevent back flow into the output
line.
