Lippert won't void their warranty because they own Reese, to do otherwise would put a damper on GooseBox sales. From what I can tell, the design makes a big effort to dampen shock forces between truck and trailer which is a good thing. But the overall lever is still longer than using a conventional fifth wheel hitch. So, I guess the hope is that reduced shock forces offsets the added length.
If you are happy with the visibility issues with seeing and hooking up with a floor mounted ball and using safety chains, then the GooseBox should be better, just don't tell Lippert you ever used a non-approved GN adaptor.
