Is a "2 battery" disconnect switch mandatory or could i just use a single on/off battery disconnect and kill the feed from the two paralleled batteries to the trailer?

I guess a better question is, If I leave two batteries paralleled to each other but disconnected from the trailer will they drain each other?

No, I used #6 stranded. You need to match or go bigger than your current wire to the battery. Auto parts store should have the terminations for whatever wire you decide to use. Good luck

I noticed the outdoor electrical junction book is not the weather proof type.(Same as mine- 250RB ). I put some silicon seal on mine.

A 2 battery switch while not mandatory, provides more flexibility. I have used them on my boats for many years. One can switch the 12 vdc system between battery one, battery two, both batteries in parallel or Off completely. I normally go with a single battery selected. In the boat, I use a large converter that will charge up to 3 banks of batteries all at the same time as required. For an RV, use a 2 battery switch and no additional converter. That should cover all of the bases and not run down any batteries when used correctly.

This is on my list. I did the hard part a year ago. I bought a battery disconnect. Just have not made the time to install it.

part #s

Anyone got part#s, I've got a 150 amp circuit breaker that we use on our compressors at work, think that'll work?

All done. Pretty simple. Now its easy to kill the battery when we arent hooked to power.

Got my battery disconnect on Amazon. Installed today. Switch and cable for under $25. 19" cable from auto parts store. Cable to the junction box on the trailer looks tight, but plenty of slack and nothing rubbing. Cut and dry to install. Used a square electrical box cover for a backer plate in the battery box. Now if I have to leave at the dealer I can shut down all power and hopefully save the battery a little longer. Don't need to use it at the house as I have shore power to the unit.
