Bearing seals
What tool is best for removing the inner bearing seal when it needs to be changed.
I was thinking of buying this (OTC 4508 Professional Style Seal Puller):

Use a brass or aluminum drift so not to damage anything. Steel could nick the hub. Work your way around tapping it out.
Or.... use the seal puller: $7.00 Harbor Freight.

Here is what I do and it is free. First off, I don't remove the seal without replacing it. They are too cheap and too important to try and re-use them. After removing the outer bearing, reinstall the large spindle nut by itself (no washer). Then pull the wheel off the spindle. As you pull the wheel off, the rear bearing and seal will catch on the nut and when the wheel comes off, the rear bearing and seal will be sitting on the spindle.

I do the same as Stan. Works great and yes the seals are so cheap I would not try to reuse them.

Staying on the topic of bearing seals,
I am doing the bearings next weekend if the weather cooperates. I've been looking high and low for my cheat sheet with various part numbers and can't find it. I did find a National box in my garage with part#442109 on it. Not sure if this was from my Cruiser or my long gone Skyline. Does this look right?

I ordered these (etrailer.com)
RG06-070 Grease Seals 10-36 (pair) – these are a “double seal”
BP19-001 Magnet Retainer Clip for Oval Magnet
Also replaced all of the rusting lug nuts 12CLN Chrome Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - 1/2"
I have not replaced the seal that was leaking yet – making a trip and will replace when I get back.
I have the 5200 lb axles.
None of the magnets for the brakes had the retainer clip. I ordered a set of 4 because one of the magnets would not stay on the “post”. If a magnet kit is purchased the clip is included.
For those that do maintenance on your brakes/bearings were the clips on the magnets?

We have a Cruiser 305SK with Lippert 5200 lb axles. Lippert shows Lippert seal 122088 with 2.25 ID and 3.376 OD as the seal for this axle. We experienced a seal failure on one wheel with the original equipment Lippert seal. Resulted in brake part being saturated with grease and they had to be replaced. So looking for a quality replacement seal.
Trouble is Lippert does not specify width or thickness of seal 122088. Double lip seals with 2.25 ID and 3.376 OD come in .375 and .438 width or thickness. Anyone know which thickness is correct for the Lippert 5200 lb spring axle?
