Check out Dogwood Canyon Nature Preserve. It was established by the founder of Bass Pro Shops and is a nice way to spend a day. It is located about 30 miles or so south of Branson. The Big Cedar Lodge is worth checking out as a place to stay if you don't want to take your camper. We drove through the grounds of it while we were there and it is an awesome looking place. It is another Bass Pro Shops installation. Since Bass Pro Shops is located nearby in Springfield, MO, there is a large BPS presence in the area. If you like shopping and dining out, the Branson Landing area in downtown Branson is really nice. The wife and I spent our anniversary there last summer, but we didn't pull the camper, so I can't give any advice on campgrounds. To be honest, Branson wouldn't be high on my list of places to return. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a pretty good way from home and I'm just not a big fan of dinner shows and such.
