battery winter storage?
New Zinger owner, used to be Cougar owner. I notice Zinger battery is very accessible (Cougar Not). Anyway I was wondering if I should remove battery and store at home for the next 6-8 weeks?

If you have access to electricity where the camper is, (I take you have it in storage) You could hook up a battery minder to it.
Other wise if you don't have a battery disconnect you might be better off either bringing it home or at the very least disconnect the battery cables.

Congrats on your new camper and welcome aboard.

Since I have our TT stored at home I leave it plugged in all the time so the battery stays charged through the converter. I do check the water level every couple of weeks and top it off as necessary. Been doing this for several years with no problems. Enjoy your new trailer.

If only 6-8 weeks, leave it.
I pull mine for the winter since it is 6 months.

I bring mine in every winter and put it in my garage on wood and keep a battery maintainer on it.

In the past with my old trailer I would pull the battery out and put the battery tender on it in the garage. This year I decided to run an extension cord into the battery compartment and put the charger on it there. This way if I need to open the slides or use the trailer in the event of a power outage it's ready to go.

Good advice. Another way to remember is to think of your house wiring. Black is the "hot" wire. White is "neutral" or negative in this case.
Another good thing to remember is if it plugs into an outlet you are using 120 or shore power. If it "switches" lights etc, it is 12v. It's a concept that many folks forget. It tripped me up several times too.

I store mine here at the house so no chance of theft. Hope not. But I did install a disc switch. Now no back pain pulling the battery out. Just reach my hand in and turn off when I'm gone. Works good for me.

I have the option to leave the whole trailer plugged in at winter storage, but my battery comes in the house every winter and is put on a tender. The only reason is that if there is a power outage at home I can use it to run my furnace blower for a short time.

Thanks to everyone. This winter I pulled the battery and store at home. Some folks mentioned a "battery maintainer" does that keep a charge on the battery or just slow the discharge rate? Where do you buy them?

It provides a trickle charge that keeps the topped off with a full charge.

for color ident use some shrink wrap lasts longer than nail polish or electrical tape. As for battery charging try solar panels for battery charging. I have used them for the last several years as trailer is in storage and have used them dry camping. Have always had full charged batteries. Found everything at Harbor Freight but other places have them also.

Thanks again for the good info
Wound up getting the BatteryMinder Plus from Northern Tool online. My battery was out about 3 weeks, hooked up BMP and it fully charged in about 2.5 days and is now in maintenance mode. This device also provides desultification but I doubt I will need that feature. $26.
