Stolen - Please Help Keep An Eye Out
Our Travel trailer was stolen from StorQuest storage in Leander, Tx. Across from Block House Creek. Stolen approx Feb 12,2024. We traded in our Zinger 298BH for this last June, that's why I'm on the Crossroads forum. I love this forum and community! We aren't abandoning it, ever.
It is a 2023 Cougar Half Ton 26RBS, white with one slide out and outdoor kitchen. Pics and license plate (if they were too stupid to take it off) below.
Yes we had a hitch lock and yes the storage facility was suppose to be secure but their cameras don’t work. Yes we called the cops and have insurance.
Please keep your eyes open for sales and roadside trailer left somewhere. Thanks so much. Don’t like going public but maybe it’ll help!
We had a halo view backup camera, WiFi equipment and 2 TVs inside. Maybe pawn shops? We have the halo view monitor, they have the camera. Most units have a stainless fridge inside, ours was black with the gray interior. I’ve been checking Craigslist and other sites. It has w entry doors, front and back.

I am curious what the storage facility's stance is on your camper being stolen from their facility..???

SleepyT,
Their response is that's why we require you to have insurance. Their excuse for the cameras not working is the remodel to the office, however that remodel doesn't affect the cameras on the storage units that don't work. They said those never worked! Officer said we'd have to file civil suit on the storage facility.
We found out later last week that there was a storage break in mid january and the manager DID NOT let any of us know there had been a break in. We'[d been more vigilant had we known and maybe would've put those airtags my husband got for Christmas, in there!!! HInd site!!

Tommy, you can't insure some one else's equipment. Any way, that is the way it was when I had rental storage for RV's.

However if theee are signs about camera surveillance and a locked gate, we assume we are secure and have cameras that work when this stuff happens. They basically threw their hands up!

JulieT Will be compensated for her loss at some point...She also didn't say in her post that the Gate to the facility was damaged in any way, and that the cameras didn't work...She was paying for storage but also security...If the gate wasn't damaged to me that could mean that who ever stold her camper could also be a customer of that facility...If the cameras were working it could have done a lot to determine who committed the crime...So management didn't inform customers of no cameras or that the facility had been broken into before...I wouldn't be bringing my next camper there and would be asking many more questions of the next facility I was going to store it...
PS...JulieT sorry for the lose of your camper...

Sleepy,
Thank you so much. We already cancelled our storage with that facility and not sure where we’ll store our new one. We live in an HOA so can’t store it at home.
We too think it was someone on the inside who left the facility with it. There is a code to get in and a code to get out!
I’ve contacted an atty to see if we have a case. We’ll see. We really just want compensation for the 7 month old trailer and all of our belongings inside! But if we can’t get it from ins I surely hope we can get it from the storage facility in civil lawsuit.

It would maybe help if everybody would write down the make, model, and year of this camper. Take a few minutes on occasion and check out your local Craigslist.
It won't take you long, and who knows, you might just stumble across this rig.
That would make everybody happy.

Do you have the vin# to share? I’m retired. Looked up and seen several at dealerships. Vin would help.

Good idea. You can search for the VIN on the Internet. Many dealers include the VIN in their listings.
