No power to back up cam.

I bought a furrion back up cam and it has no power. Works with the truck cigarette light so the camera is functional, I tried turning on trucks lights, putting in reverse, etc. Finally pulled the back cover off and found a random wire I’m guessing is supposed to hooked up running lights.
Trailer is a sunset trail 272bh and truck is a 2021 F150. Anyone know if this is easy to wire in because it doesn’t appear to be. Dealership told me 15 minute install and trailer is supposedly pre wired.
Thanks
Adam

Is there voltage present on the wire when the parking lights are on?

Following since I am getting ready to install a backup cam on 2017 Sunset Trails 291RK. It has the mount on rear but not opened it yet.

I have heard of several instances where the 'prewired backup camera' wiring is wired to the camera mount, but not to the clearance light that powers it. The wiring is wrapped around the clearance light wire, but not connected. This appears to be only on some of the most recent builds.
Remove the center clearance light and check for connection there.
Let us know what you find.

Wingdinger, you are exactly correct. I pulled off the rubber cover and found a cut wire. The dealership installed it free of cost because apparently the manufacturer was suppose to connect to a light.
Also the wire was pinched between the ladder beam and wall inside the camper and that’s why I wasn’t able to pull out more wire.
Took them two hours to fix.
Also, the camera only has power when truck lights are on, not in auto mode.

I have the Furrion camera on my camper. I pull it with a 2013 Sierra 2500 and I just turn my fog lights on as that turns on the marker lights too. No need to shut the lights off when you shut truck off. Not sure if other vehicles do this though.
