Furnace - AC on at the same time

Out camping in Manitoba and it is 5C this morning. Turned on the furnace for some heat to break the chill. Furnace came on and getting the heat needed and then the AC came on a short time later and blowing cold air. I turned everything off and tried it again and the same thing happened. I turned the AC breaker off and the furnace works fine.

Is this a thermostat problem or is it something else.

Thanks Lloyd, but I think I got it working properly. It's not a thermostat problem, it's the operator, me.

Checked a couple of videos and found out that the buttons do more than just turn on the Fan, Furnace and AC. To operate the furnace the Fan needs to be selected to Auto. Mine somehow was set on High, which when operating the furnace the AC fan will also come on at some point. Changed the Fan back to Auto and all works well.

They also suggested that when running the AC the Fan should be set to High. Too cool where we are at present to worry about that.

I don't have the manual for my thermostat so I'll try to download one.

Thanks for the report Ed.
I have a friend who doesn't like to ever admit to "operator error" So it was refreshing to read your post.
