Joy Rider Shock System
Just finished installing the Joy Rider Shock Kit on my 2010 30SKP Cruiser. Article about this kit in Sept Trailer Life. Install was pretty straight forward as per directions. Hardest part was drilling the 16 holes for upper brackets. I was impressed with the quaility of the hardware, brackets are 1/4in galvanized steel, good grade of bolts, nylon lock nuts, shocks are Gabriel 60/40's. Price was $575, expensive yes, worth it to me yes. Old school, if it rides down these wonderful roads it needs shocks like every thing else we drive.
I'm not affiliated with this company in any way.

This should help.

How to add photos to a post
- Click reply and scroll down to bottom of text box.
- Click "go advanced" add text to message window and then scroll down.
- Click "Manage attachments" A separate window will pop up.
- Click "browse" Then select the file to be uploaded. Be sure that the photo is appropriately sized. 800 x 600 pixels (or smaller) and no more than 400K is recommended. Forums software will automatically reduce the size, but smaller size photos will upload much faster. You may select several photos to upload at the same time by repeating the last step.
- Click "Upload" After pics have loaded close the pop-up window
- Click "submit reply" to mount the text of your message - photos will automatically appear at the bottom of your post.

Your rig is a 2010. Didn't it come with the Equa-Flex?

Thanks for posting about this. I had started a thread on this subject when the article/magazine first was delivered.
I am trying to decide whether to do this or the extended "wide stance" equi-flex.
I have to send pictures to them to see if the equi-flex will even work on our 2010.
Have you towed with it installed yet ?
Knowing what you know now, and having done the installation, would you do the installation over again ?
thanks
dave c.

I would like comment on the ride. Lloyd mentioned the Equa-Flex which we have and I have been quite happy and confident with it. Just traveled 12000 miles and suspension performed great
Nice work and thanks for the pics.

Nice job, and what about those disc brakes? I know they weren't stock?

Did it raise the height of your trailer any? And I would like to know about the disc brakes also.
Nice job and thanks for the pictures.

No, it did not raise tne trailer. You install the shock kit as it normally sits. I raised it myself by using the bottom holes in the 4 spring brackets. I had never looked up in my fender wells, all 4 tires had been rubbing. The right front was the worst, had made a large dent in the metal. When I took off the blowmax tires I used 235X 85's, maybe should have used 75's.
The disk brakes are self installed. Many mistakes, driving cost up, total $1245.00. Example: Used Kodiak calipers. Didn't read anything, just jumped whole hog and started slapping stuff together. Finished install, bled lines, test drive, everything great and only then decided to read some instructions. Kodiak calpiers can not be hard piped, they are floaters. Take everything apart, fluid leaking everywhere, what a mess. Had to have 4 new lines and 4 flex lines made up. Not my only mistake by far, but I'm glad I did this, brakes are great. Larry

Larry thanks for sharing and taking the time to post. I too saw the article in TL and wanted to do the same. Money is kinda tight so we will do it when we down size. I also like the idea of having disc brakes. Gets kinda scary when your trailer gets in front of you going down a hill.
