tow mirrors

I just bought a set of Kool vue towing mirrors for my truck. They're heated, have the turn signal, and are manual folding and extending.
When the body shop doing the restoration unboxed them, one was broken, but one call, and several photos later, they offered to send me a new one, and I don't have to send the old one back! I ordered mine from Auto Parts Warehouse. We'll see next week how good they are at keeping their word.

Took my door panel off and took picture of plug and wires for my mirrors. There is like 8 or 9 going in but only 3 to the existing mirror so I may have what I need. Waiting to hear back.

That wasn't my truck in the pic. However, I got my mirrors delivered today! Put them on myself. I highly recommend 1a auto . com. I ordered on Monday afternoon and got them today with free shipping. Only took a beer a piece to put on. I like them. Power, turn signal, and parking lights all work. Don't know yet about the heat function. They were also plug and play. They also came with both paint to match caps or chrome.

Oh, I need to correct my earlier post about the mirrors I bought. I got them from Monster Auto Parts, not Auto Parts Warehouse. Still waiting for them to, "...receive them at their wholesalers warehouse." This may take longer that I planned, but I WILL get my replacement; I don't play nice with people who tick me off.

They look like they grew there. Nice job! You'll love 'em when you tow with them.

The mirrors work great. Money well spent. Picked up TT and brought home yesterday. Truck pulled it like "it wasn't even there". I did have an issue with my 7 pin plug. It was full of dirt! I had to scrape and blow the dirt out before it would work. I checked it for brakes and turn signals before I left but on way home ran into a light drizzle/snow and turned on lights and noticed my clearance lights were not on. I am guessing one of the pins not making a good connection?

Spray some CRC contact cleaner into the plug and see if that helps. Use the straw to make the stream more forceful to force out the dirt.

7 pin plug

I did have an issue with my 7 pin plug. It was full of dirt" I keep a bunch of 12"long wire ties in the front flap of my trailer. Whenever I plug into my truck, I wire tie the trailer plug to the tuck by passing it through holes between the tuck plug and the bumper, then run it around the trailer wire. In all probability, it won't be needed, but neither will the emergency brake cable; but it doesn't hurt.

Good idea. I will pick up some when I go into town. Would WD-40 hurt anything?

They make a dielectric gel that is good to pack in the receptacle as well as in the plug itself. It helps keep the dirt and water out.

I have cleaned my plug and checked all fuses. I have no clearance/running or tail lights. May have a problem with the plug itself? Any suggestions?
