No, its no different. Both are considered preventative maintenance but I give up on changing your mind. Good luck with your tanks.

Alternate question - we use GEO method with liquid Calgon. I am generous with the Calgon and use about 3-4 caps of detergent in a 40gal. tank. I add bleach to every other tank.

Has anyone had odor issues? I flushed tank this weekend, and odor seemed to linger afterwards. Any suggestions?

Also...DW picked up Calgon at Wal Mart this Friday...keep looking if you normally buy it there.

Actually, if we want to be silly, we can say the Calgon is a laxative for your holding tank.

Sorry, slow day at work..

Tommy thanks for sharing.

Eddy- we had odor issues before switching tanks. on a few occasions, we get an odor that goes away with doing a really extra good flush and adding some bleach. I think it's residual from before we did geo method.

Tribal wisdom says "You better put something in your holding tank or you won't be able to use the toilet for the smell"

Do you agree??

GOES method;
1. helps prevent a problem
2. eliminates odors
3. IS CHEAPER THAN THE CHEMICALS".

It's your money spend it any way you want. I don't like the chemical smell.

Cheaper or at least as cheap as the little dissolvable chemical packs. I don't necessarily mind the "porta potty" smell. I actually don't smell anything. I understand the principle of soft water and since I bought a fairly good size box I will use continue to use and report at the end of the season.
