slide out

ok we love our new/used crossroads, but there are some issues that are really kinda bothering us. most of the stuff is minor & we can fix that, but the big issue is the slide out keeps sticking & not coming in evenly on both sides. is this a normal issue for slide outs this big or on these brands??? any helpful input would be wonderful...thanks!

I personally use white lithium grease out of an aerosol can. Easy to use, good coverage, and my slides work great.

Knock on wood!

Herbmama,
I use white lithium grease. Be sure to grease the upper and lower tracks. The manual says use something likw WD-40, but grease is better...

You might have to take it to a dealer to get it adjusted properly.

unfortunately I do not know the year or type of slide out system you have, but I will guess you have the Schwintek system. No it is not normal for the slide to stick everytime you use it. Although the Schwintek in wall slide system is a great product, its major downfall is the installation which happens at the trailer assembly plant. If the manufacture does not install this system perfectly square and plumb, it will cause problems. It is very sensitive and unforgiving to a sloppy install. As there is no real adjustment that can be done at the user level, I agree with Mark, you need to take it to a dealer. Mine had to trim and raise the wall track and raise the floor roller just to keep 1 corner from rubbing on the floor. tore a hole in my linoleum.

Good luck
Jason

Without the year and model of the trailer we don't know the slideout system you have.

You might want to watch the quick video in this thread. It talks about lube on that system.
