Greetings from Cincinnati, Ohio

Happy Friday all!

I'm Bob. My wife Jeri and I have purchased our first RV and will be taking delivery tomorrow. It is a new 2023 Sunset Trail SS258RD.

We are new to RVing but have been doing research on it for the last 4 years and basically got to the point where we couldn't learn much more without actually doing it.

We enjoy travelling, but there are two reasons we chose to travel with an RV. First, my wife is the proverbial princess from The Princess and the Pea, so sleeping on hotel mattresses never worked for her. The other reason is that we hate being away from our dogs. We have an adult Great Dane and a Saint Bernard puppy who will be traveling with us.

I look forward the chatting with you!

-Bob

Hello and welcome!

If this is your 1st or 5th camper be sure to do a thorough walk thru. Have them show you that everything works anf how to make it work and where it is located then you make it work. In the documents section there is a good PDI list. Good luck and happy camping.

We had our walk-through. It was good for showing us where things were, but not as great for describing how things worked. We did a fair amount of research and knew more about the RV than the tech doing the walkthrough did.

Great. I have a 96lb Lab, which takes up a lot of floor space.
See my other post on what to look for when taking delivery.
One thing I didn't mention is weight distribution. Once loaded for a trip take tow vehicle and RV to a CAT Scale. Google their locations. Many truck stops have them. You don't want to overload your tow vehicle or RV. Google how to weight them and you will see the correct procedure.

Good afternoon Bob. We live up the road in West Chester. We bought a 2024 Sunset Trail 253RB last November. We are taking our 1st trip March 10. We are goi g to the KOA in Lebano for the weekend as a "shakedown " trip, just to make sure we understand how to set up and to make sure we know how to turn everything on. We have planned out 3 more trips in the next few months and are looking forward to them. Best to you and your wife! Enjoy your camper!
