We will be going on our first trip with our rushmore to Moab in a couple weeks. Any suggestions on a good camp site?

The Portal fer sure.
They have large landscaped owned sites that they rent out to spiffy rigs like yours. Or your can opt for the north section which is regular RV park. We've enjoyed many stays there.Edited by: coastn

We were there last year and stayed at Moab Valley RV Resort just out of town and a short distance to both Cayonlands and Arches NP. Highly recommend the sunset boat ride and if you are hikers Arches is great. Make sure to have lots of water or fill up at the ranger station. I loved the arch formations it was truly a work from above.

We stayed at Canyonlands campground, which wasn't too bad. Not our first choice though. Completely gravel, but does have trees for some shade. Located in the middle of town so we walked everywhere.

The store "Gearheads"http://www.moabgear.comhas free filtered water. And an incredible selection of outdoor gear and supplies!

Another recommendation for Portal RV Resort in Moab. Definitely nicer on the resort side if you are staying more than a couple of nights. We are here for 6 nights and its pretty quiet - only about 1/3 full. I guess August in the desert is off-season. Oh well, we are enjoying it in spite of the heat - temps in the 90's aren't bad at all. Beautiful area!!! A must see for all - Arches, Canyonlands, off-road trails - lots to do.
