I hardly ever use my battery power for my inside lights can I replace some of my interior factory lights with a nicer type house ceiling style light...and if for some reason it was left on and I did switch to battery power what would happen besides it not lighting would it damage anything??
I never opened up the factory lights,is there a separate 12 volt wire going to it?
Your lights are 12 volt. You would have to run 110 volt wires to the lights to put up house lights. Probably could be done just not easy. Then you would need to leave the 12 volt lights up or you would have no lights if not hooked up to 110.

When plugged in and your battery is disconnected you are running off of the converter which is putting out 12 volts. With your battery connected and plugged in you are still running off of the converter only now you are also charging the battery.

Maybe this will help. Your camper has 2 electrical systems 12 volt and 110 volt .
110 volt system runs the AC - the 110 outlets - the 110 side of the refrigerator - the electric side of the water heater -the microwave and the converter.
12 volt side runs the lights - the radio - the spark for the gas side of the refrigerator - water heater - furnace - your bathroom vent fan and stove hood fan - the antenna booster - the furnace blower and your awning if electric.
When you plug in to 110 your converter runs all the 12 volt things and also charges the battery.
Hope this helps some and I may have forgot some things but you get the idea.
