Mister

Here is an easy mod for you guys who camp where it is hot. I bought this mister a couple years ago and planned on installing it on the porch. I opened it up and found that it had clips. They clip right on to awning and it works great! Makes a really hot day a COOL day.

Cool! They have misters at Busch Gardens in Tampa and turn them on on hot days. They are only in certain locations. On the RV sounds great!

I would be concerned about the quality of the water going through. If the water has a lot of iron, etc. in it, the little jets could easily get clogged. Is it attached to the regular plumbing supply or does it have its own reservoir?

I just put a "Y" at the water source. The kind that you can adjust the amount of water flow. At full blast you will get wet after awhile. And yes, works just like the one's at an amusement park. A adjustable nozzle where it connects to the hose is order so you don't have to keep walking back to the water source to adjust.

The way that Chevy squats in your Sig picture, aren't you concerned about adding more weight?

I don't think it's the weight police. I think it's more of a concern for others on this forum. I know anaro, and I wouldn't want anything to happen while she's towing or any other member on here. I know she feels the same way. If you see her posts she cautions others about pulling a TT because of her experience towing. If we see an issue that could possibly cause trouble, we should let that person know.
We're just trying to look out for the other guy or girl.

Lloyd we've talked about the squat before. It is actually camera angle. I have measured and weighed ok. I have 1/4" rise in front and 2 1/2" drop in rear. I am well within all weights with room to spare.

Here are my numbers. These are with a full tank of fuel, family in the TV and trailer loaded up with everything except food.

2014 Chevy Silverado 3500 (crew cab 4x4 duramax long bed LT package)
Truck specs
Gvwr 11,600 lbs
GCWR 24,500 lbs
GFAWR 5600 lbs
GRAWR 7050 lbs

Truck no trailer (reese 16k hitch in bed)--
Front axle 4900 lbs
Rear axle 3380 lbs
Total truck weight 8280 lbs
Available payload 3320 lbs
Adjusted towing capacity 16220 per numbers but manufacturer lists 16000 as my max so we will call it that.

Truck with 2014 Palomino Sabre 34REQS-6 attached
Front axle 4900 lbs
Rear axle 6000 lbs
Trailer 9760 lbs
Total combined weight 20,660 lbs

It looks like I have a 5er weight of 12,380 lbs and it looks like my pin weight is 2620 lbs. So I'm well within specs.

Don't forget, I'm a card carrying member of the weight police too. actually I appreciate the concern but it sits pretty level and handles well (when not in the shop )

Wow, this somehow got off topic. Where is a mod when you need one?

Aileen, Don't worry, I am sure your Chevy can handle the extra weight of the mister. It doesn't weigh that much!

I was thinking the same thing, it weighs less than 5 lbs and yes we got off topic. Imagine that around here

Come on Clif. I know you started a few "off topics" also.
