Outdoor Kitchen to Bunkhouse vents

Hi all just joined up on the forum we have a 328sb bunkhouse we have owned for a couple months

I noticed our camper has these two vents, one on the outdoor kitchen side and another on the bunkhouse side so heat / cool air can supposedly pass through. To me though seems completely pointless and just another spot for bugs to possibly enter. Has anyone found some plastic blanks to get rid of these "vents"?

Hello and Welcome!

I do not have a outside kitchen so this is just a guess-- If you have water in the outside kitchen then it is probably to provide heat in the winter to help keep the water lines from freezing. You could just cover the holes with something in the summer and remove it in the winter.

You could put a piece of screen fabric between the vent covers to prevent bugs from passing through. If you have water in the outdoor kitchen, there is also another opening for the water hoses to pass through for the sink.

If you want to completely close them off just place a black piece of cloth or paper behind the vent cover.

When we owned a Zinger ZT30KB, we had vents like this. We removed them, cut screen mesh to fit and reinstalled. We used a fine screen mesh that you use for screen doors and purchased it at Lowes.

Good luck.

I have the same vent on my sunset trail 253. That is a vent for your outdoor kitchen to keep air circulating for your refrigerator. I used a small piece of insulation to reduce the draft.
