Talking Successfully rewired the cable connection for Satellite!!!

I am a happy girl!! After reading countless articles and going through a billion diagrams, I now am able to plug my satellite into the "cable" connector on our new 2015 30RK. I did it my way without all the jumpers and certainly without drilling any holes into the outside of my brand new rig. I did have to add an second dual coax plate. DH was kind enough to drill the holes into the entertainment center for me. For those who care, I removed the "cable" in from the back of the booster and connected it to one of my new coax connections on the new plate. We have never camped where there is cable but if we do this will still work for cable as I have bypassed the booster. Next, I removed the connection from the booster that feeds to the bedroom (I still cannot figure why there was a splitter here as we only have the two cable connections.) and connected this to the second connection on the new plate. You see we have a tailgater which allows me to feed RF out to second TV through a RF modulator. Now I can watch the satellite in the bedroom. Also added the OTA connector to the 211Z receiver and now my local stations will feed through the receiver and back out to the TVs. And in what I consider a genius move, I ordered a wireless IR remote extender from Amazon and now I can view the guide on screen and change channels from the bedroom while the receiver stays in the cabinet of the entertainment center.

My next step is to organize everything in the entertainment center and cable management and I will be done.

Yes it was!
BUT, one has to admit, it was one that shouldn't have had to be redone.
Might be good fodder to pass on to the factory.

I basically did the same thing. Instead of cutting out another hole for a face plate, I simply bought a F type cable connector and drilled a hole in the top area of the existing face plate.i secured the new connector in the newly drilled hole. I disconnected the cable from its original place behind the face plate and reconnected it to the new connector. The satellite works like a charm and the cable is easy to move to the other connector if your in a park with cable. It was a 15 minute job.

I compiled some pictures into a PDF years ago. It's the #1 viewed file on my FTP site. I just searched through this forum and see that it's been linked to a couple of times here too. I never thought that little file would live so long.
