wheel hubs

Has anyone here converted your trailers wheel hubs to match your tow vehicles. I know that my trailer, and my truck have the same size tires, and it seems to me that that would be very convenient to be able to use your spare tires where ever needed. If anyone's done this, let me know what the process is (I have a general idea), and what the cost might be.
Thanks

remember that the tires for a trailer are rated for trailer use. Truck tires are not rated that way. but good luck on your idea.

Something to think about is the offset of the two rims. Had a friend do just what you are thinking, he 'discovered that the wheel had to be put back words.(the nice shiny side toward the brake hub) otherwise he had a bad rubbing problem.

Both very good point; neither of which I had given any thought to! We'll I guess I'll nix that idea and go for the exhaust brake. It's a lot more useful going the back roads in Pa., W. Va., and Va.!

Off topic but....Lynlou if you do the exhaust brake mod, post the particulars here when complete. I and others would be interested as my Duramax doesn't have one.

Note, I spun this off into its own thread.

His truck, being an '03 is set up different than ours. He has a conventional turbo-charger. Model yr 2004.5 brought out the variable vane turbo. They work different and can have issues with an "exhaust brake".

I have a Banks Speedbrake. It is entirely electronic.

some folks like them, some don't. I like ours. Working with our Allison, I have had no issues.
