As I recall from previous threads, I don't thing the inspection requirement kicks in until after the 2 year warranty ends. Good idea to ask at the factory rally.

our 5er is only 1 yr old and I was told it needed to be done. My dealer closed down so Crossroads sent me to another authorized dealer to do the inspection. Which they did and at the same time made some new friends.

This is what I found out from a dealer here in Nebraska/Iowa region Friday the 26th. He call Crossroads regional representative for this area and asked the question “ do you need an annual inspection to keep the 5 year structural warranty in effect “ and the answer was there is NO inspection needed to keep this. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

So I would suggest to everyone to check with there regional representative to verify before going off a deep end on this issue.

Sounds like a dealer scam to me.

It is not a dealer scam as my owners manual states very clearly what to check, how often the requirement is and what to do after inspection. If the regional rep says there is no requirement then either he is wrong or Crossroads has changed their policy. I would be curious to know if there is any mention of this inspection in the 2010 owners manuals.

MAYBE THE CROSSROADS STAFF WILL CHIME IN HERE TO CLARIFY THIS OBVIOUS CONFUSION.

Stan, not to doubt you at all but where in your manual does it state that you have to inspect once a year as you stated. I notice you have a 30sk and I have a 29ck. The manual should be close. Gave a page number or what it is under and I will check mine.

I listen to the dealer conversation when he talked to Daniel the regional representative.

Would be nice if Crossroads would make a comment on this question.

It would be nice if they would comment but don't count on it. I have been on this forum since day one and cannot ever remember anyone from Crossroads commenting on anything related to warranty issues on the forum. Probably some legal issue.

Actually we asked about that at last year's rally and they explained that the forum is for us and while they monitor they do not get involved. They do use it for improvements. It really is best if you write them and ask the questions.

I don't mind having to do it since I don't get along with my caulking gun and make a mess with it. It's well worth it to pay someone else to do it instead of myself.

Papabear...take a look at Malojeer's post on the first page of this subject (9th post). He lists all the items to check plus mine states to check for moulding loose/broken screws and replace. This is all in my Crossroads Manufacturers Warrantee Statement and Policy booklet on page 5. It is for both 5er's and TT's. At the top of the page it states:

"It is the owner's responsibility to have the following inspection and service items performed. These inspections and services are at the owner's expense and failure to due so will void your structural warrantee. These inspections and services must be performed annually by a qualified Crossroads RV Dealership. A 30-day grace period will apply to all annual inspections. Please have the Inspection and Service Certification form completed by the qualified Crossroads RV Dealer when service is performed."

It goes on to say to fax a copy of the completed form to Crossroads annually after service is complete.

Let me get this right crossroads is forcing you to go to a dealer to keep your warrenty, but you can't go to any dealer because a dealer has the right to not work on your camper if he didn't sell it. This don't sound right to me ,if this was a auto this would beilligal.
