That's the firstI have heard of this. My wiring is all "Loomed" and spot tied to angle arms or pivots. Nothing hangs down.

go to your dealer. they can install a plastic flexible wire holder that will keep the wire up and bend and or straighten when the slide is in or out. keeps the wire in place nice and neat.

We had the same problem and the harness actually got caught and pulled loose. Now I watch it when we open and close the slides.

We had the same issue when we first got our ST the wiring bracket broke and let the wires get down between the 2 tires. The tires rubbed until we got to our destination and shorted out the lights in the slide. Took it back to dealer and was repaired. No more trouble.

Last trip out I was putting the chocks on the slide side and noticed the wires hanging down between the tires. Had rubbed on the tire for however long we towed that day. Fortunately, no damage to the wiring. Like the above post, the wiring bracket had broken. I rejoined the two ends of the bracket with the miracle of duct tape. Kept my eye on it all when I put the slide in. All worked well for the remainder of the trip. Now my problem is that my original dealer is out of business and the designated Crossroads service centerwon't get to my repair until October, being as I didn't buy my trailer from them. They're also 85 miles away. The duct tape might be my permanent fix.

Russ I do not know yet about Ouray. If I do it will be this winter. The medical profession still has no answers on my lung situation. My next apointment is in November. If they know what is going on then I might get out there for new Years. I need to real bad Dad turns 92 in August while mom is 91. Till then we will go go local next week end two local in August and than in Sept Millwood Landing in Arkansas and then down Tres Rios in Glen Rose Texas

We have 2008 27 RB ST that the slide wires were sagging when the slide was in. The 2 black plastic strips looked like they were out of place, but I'm not sure how they should be. They pivot on the end, but how are they supposed to hold the wires up. I haven't called the dealer because I only think about when I want go camping!!

I have the same problem. The plastic harness that holds the wires broke and the wires were hanging
down when I put the slide in. I duct taped it until I got it to the dealer. They tried to
screw the harness together but it broke again the first time I put
the slide out. I think it needs needs a new plastic harness but the same thing could happen again with it.

the best fix, rather than the cheap plastic piece is metal. If it broke once...it'll break again!
Mine was hanging down aswell. I made a metal "V" hinge that will never break or hang. Took 2 pieces of flat bar with a hinge in the middle. Then put a hinge on both ends of the "V" and screwed the hinge down to the trailer on both ends. Works fantastic! opens and closes very well.
tried to make it so the "V" opened toward the rear of the trailer, but not enough room for it to close properly. Bad design anyway, having the wiring over the tires...gravel is very hard on it, even with loom.

Mine broke too. Took it to my dealer and they took a thick strip of stiff rubber (like strip off of a truck bed mat) and pieced the broken factory plastic support back together with pop rivets. It has been two years and many trips now with no more issues.
Worked like a champ.
Happy Camping!

My original plastic strip broke again, different place. Now it's duct taped in two places and seems to be holding well. I like Boo's fix. Will look into it at some point. Can't see the taped part so it's no big deal.
53rd day out, presently in Tombstone, AZ. Sunny and warming from an unusually cold 50 degree day yesterday. Snow overnight on the nearby mountains. What??? That's what I left Colorado to get away from!
