I have a 2013 Sunset Trail Reserve. It has a television mount that I can raise and lower behind the electric fireplace. I purchased this camper new from the RV dealership in February of 2014. So this is my first winter coming up. I believe I have winterized the camper correctly so that is set for out door storage. My question is about the television. It is a LCD model. I live in Minnesota. Are these newer televisions made to withstand the cold? Or do I need to remove it before the real cold weather arrives and somehow store it inside?
I've been RVing since 2005 and I've never taken the TVs out in winter. No problems to date. Of course, it doesn't stay below freezing for long periods of time here very often like it may in Minnesota. We did have a period of about a week last winter where it didn't get out of the teens during the day and no issues, though.

You can leave the TV installed, I unplug mine just for safety, But dont forget to remove your batteries from your remotes! and smoke alarms! A dead battery will corrode and ruin these devices.

Good advice. I had to replace my CO detector this spring for that very reason.

X3. Also rechargable batts for small devices are a good choice for Rv use. Tv remotes, timers, flashlights, clocks, carbon and smoke detectors. Every time you travel just add charged batteries.

We have always removed our tv's for the winter. I rather venture on the safe side. I'd rather take the time to remove them then have to spend the money to replace one.
