Storing spices
What does everyone do with their spices in the off time your not camping? For the last couple of years i have fought with them drawing moisture and clumping up. I keep salt, pepper, grill seasoning, garlic powder, etc in a storage container in the cabinet, but other than getting dessicant packs to keep in with them I was wondering what everyone else does.

My wife packs all that stuff up and brings it in the house for the winter. All food products also.

We leave ours in all camping season. Just keep the lids on tight. Also we leave the roof vent in the bathroom and bedroom open. We have the vent covers so that may help.

We pull everything out for the winter. At the start of camping season we add fresher stuff from the house in extra containers we have.

Actually, this is from McCormick spices:

Generally speaking, dried seasonings, herbs and spices in jars last about 1-2 years. But there are exceptions worth noting. Read on for our comprehensive guide to understanding where your spices stand:
The Shelf Life of Spices
Here’s a rough guideline on the life of those seasonings in your kitchen:
• Indefinite: Vanilla extract, salt, and that's about it. (Other extracts will fade in 2-3 years).
• Whole spices (unground, such as peppercorns, whole allspice, caraway seeds, and more): 3-4 years
• Ground spices (such as cumin, ginger, paprika and chili powder): 2-4 years
• Ground and whole leafy herbs such as basil, oregano, rosemary and most seasoning blends: 1-3 years

The wife and I take everything that resembles food out of the camper after our last trip of the season...We are shooting for the skinniest mice in the neighborhood...
