AC working better - cleaned the coils
The AC unit on our 2012 Cruiser 5th wheel hasn't been blowing really cold air the last few times we had it out. Now that we are into our hot season here in South Carolina we need (want) the AC unit working the best it can. We purchased this trailer back in January and today I found out it appears the AC coils had never been cleaned.
Once I got the AC cover off I found the coils were completed clogged on the edges away from the fan. The debris was just like the lint you pull out of a clothes dryer. Pretty nasty stuff and no way air was passing through that mess.
I used a soft brush to remove most of the debris and then a can of coil cleaner with a water rinse. I used the coil cleaner several times. There was a lot of dirt that came out of the coils. With clean coils the AC is now working much better and blowing really cold air.
