I have a 2010 CF30SK, does anybody have a bike rack on their rear bumper? If so any issues? Is it strong enough or should I get something else built?

I put mine on the king pin because they took to much of a beating on the back of the bumper. I do have 2 spares on my bumper so I believe it is stroung enough.

I use a Bodiak hitch on the front of my Dodge and it carries two bikes easy. If you have tow hooks on the front of your TV then this is a easy way to carry them. I like to keep the bikes where I can see them at all times and saves on the bouncing in the rear.

Happy camping in 2010.

I have a 2 bike rack that is bolted to the back bumper. I have had no issues at all with this setup. The rack itself is maybe 5 lbs. and the bikes combined are only around 20 lbs so theres not that much weight for the bumper to deal with.

We put two bikes on ours as well, BUT, I try to keep a good eye on them dumrring our stops to make sure the bumper in still where it was the last time I looked. We also run a rachet strap over to the lader to cut down on the movement of the bikes.

Our trailer came with a factory hitch mounted to the bumper and we haven't had any problems with the hitch mount type of rack we use, in the 10k miles we have towed the bikes. I strongly suggest a rack like those offered by Hollywood in which you take the play out of the pin.

I had a bike rack on my '07 30sk bumper, but decided not to put it on my '10 30sk. The '07 bumper was strengthened with two angle clips welded to each attachment point, the '10 doesn't have this. Decided I wasn't to interested in relying on the thin wall bumper to hold the bikes. Have just left the bikes home thus far.

I purchased a 2" receiver hitch 7 made mounting bracket tobolt to pin box of our 36' Sivlerado. Then bought a Sport Rack 2 bike carrier which fits 2" receiver so can carry there or on truck hitch or rear bumper. Have hauled over 25,000 on pin box and prefer that by far. You need long bed and extended pin box for proper turn clearance. I even have Transferflow fuel tank/ toolbox in bed and can open tool lid.

I made mine from an 8" reciever and some scrap metal I had around. I have a short 6&1/2 ft. box and the bikes don't come close To the truck. I have to admitt I don't use it any more I have 2 folding bikes that fit in my passthrough front compartment. I use my hitch for a flagpole now.

I purchased a bumper-mount bike rack for the rear bumper on our 32BL. We haven't had any trouble. We also strap the bikes to the rear ladder. We used to just put them in the bed of our truck so this rack is much better.

I just can not bring myself to trust that thin metal 4" square tube. We will be welding up a piece of 2.5" angle iron to back it up.

After the frame warranty runs out I was thinking of welding some supports to the back but I think I like the king pin idea on the fifthwheel

I got a receiver hitch welded up for me, and use a bike rack designed for that. When I told the welder what I wanted, he thought I wanted to haul a motorcycle (cruiser type) so it is built way heavier than need be. But I like it that way. Very solid construction.

I had a bike rack for the car that fitted into a 1 3/8" receiver hitch sleeve so I bought a 2" to 1 3/8" reducer sleeve so that I could use the bike rack on the truck receiver. I decided to modify it to allow me to use the bike rack on the trailer. Here are couple of pictures of what I did.

I had a 2" receiver hitch installed on my fiver and bought a bike rack that plugs into it. My son has followed me on the highway and said the bike rack is rock solid at highway speeds.
