When I went to register the AC on my 2010 Sunset Trail, I got a message saying the unit had been made 3 years before I purchased it. Has anyone else found similar issue?? I am not sure I am comfortable with this.

Is Dometic saying it is outside the 3 year warranty period and they won't cover it? If so I would talk to your dealer or Crossroads about having it replaced witha new one they will cover. If it does have the full three year warranty from Dometic I don't know if I would go to the hassle of trying to have it replaced. I doubt much if anything has changed in the last three years on the stock AC units. If you are not comfortable with it regardless talk to your dealer about the issue.

Sounds to me like Crossroads got a great price on a/c units, filled up storage with a/c stock and are using up their inventory of air conditioners. Outside of having that money sitting there in inventory, it sounds like sound financial and manufacturing management to me. WE benefit with a lower price on our RVs, and the warranty should be good since the unit is new. Not much, if anything, has changed in the past three years on a/c units.

The real question: Does it work?

Sounds fishy, no company can afford to house 3 years worth of stock. If the unit really is 3 years old it sat in a Dometic warehouse somewhere, not at Crossroads. I don't recall seeing that "deep" of an inventory when I was at the factory - in fact my awning was made about a week before my camper, fridge was a month old..

I wouldn't worry about the actual age of the unit since it wouldn't have been used, just ddouble check your serial numbers and contact Crossroads if it really is 3 years old to ensure warranty coverage (likely not a issue!)

Mike, your scenario is more likely. Unless you got a tour of the factory I didn't, I never saw where they kept the parts for the units. Only the assembly lines. Obviously there would be minimal parts there.

Alot of large buildings on the premises that were not open for public display. Have to assume some of those are for parts storage, including a/c.

WELL interesting. Let me take you all back to APRIL OR MAY I had to send my 2009 Kingston 33sk back to the factory with all sort of things wrong that made me loose some confidence in CR. While it was there I had the second A/C installed and had to wait a few weeks longer because the factory for A/c' had caught FIRE and they had lost everything. I think this is shaky. Only my opinon. I still do think cr has some better built rv, I gust got a demond from hell.

I don't know about the age of the a/c, but Dometic did have a factory fire according to a local dealer who has been trying to get a roof vent for my frige for sometime. Thanks to Gorilla Tape this is not a complete disaster.
