What should it cost to refill an empty 30# cylinder? I'm going through my bills and it appears I got charged $115. That sound a bit steep.
Oh...I'm new to the camper thing and this is the first time I've refilled one. For our BBQ at home we just do the blue rhino exchange.

Wow! In our neck of the woods about 25 to 30 dollars. Just depends on the price of propane at the time. But that seems to be the going rate this winter.

I think I pay $20-25 at Home Depot for the blue rhino 20# bottle exchange. This was one of our campers 30# bottles. That should be about $35-50.
Either I got double charged or ripped off.
We were just outside Chattanooga in Feb when the temps plunged to the mid 20's overnight. Burned a half a 30# tank of Propane each night!

$115 is HIGH, IMHO. Been from the Northeast down the east coast and across to Texas and back up north then east and south again in the last two - three years, have 30#'ers and have not been charged over $30 to fill ...

At home we pay about $25.00 for a 30# tank rfill. Here in southern Alabama this winter we are paying $25.50, including tax, to refill a 30# tank.

TSC in my area is $1.99 gallon. How many gallons is a 30#er? I think my 20#er is only 3 or 4 gallons. Somebody ripped you off for sure.

I get my tank filled at a dealer that has a 70,000 lb. tank. It costs me $20.00 to get a 30lb. tank filled. For $115.00 you should have gotten 4 refills, or at least 3.

By the looks of the posts the clerk pushed the 1 key on the cash reqister one time to many. We pay in northern Alberta $27.00 plus 7% gst tax. If you are close to the place of refill you can go with your receipt and ask if the clerk was over in the cash drawer that day. They should have a record.

If you charged it to a credit card and haven't paid the bill yet it may not be too late to contest it. I suggest you contact the place where you purchased the propane and ask them if the charge is correct. If the answer is yes, I would ask why? The highest I have ever paid to get a 30# bottle filled was $35 about 4 years ago.
