Today I was washing the 5er and just noticed that the trim around the door window is Yellow!! I guess I neverpaid any attention to the color of it before. Is everyone else's like this too? Why would they have a bright white trailer and a yellow trim around the door window? Or is it just my trailer?

Hey George,
Mine was the same way, yellow and stood out like a sore thumb. Not sure why but most of them end up this. I bought some Dupont spray paint approved for plastic, masked off the trim around the door window and the exhaust vent for the stove and sprayed them both. Both are now bright white and have been for the last two seasons.

George:
All of mouldings around the windows, the door and the exhaust vent on our '05 29RK turned yellow also. I bought some white paint for plastic, snapped the mouldings out, painted them and then re-installed. Then taped the exhaust vent and door and painted them. That was almost 3 years ago and everything still looks good. Other than a little time consuming, this is not a big job.

I just don't understand why they would have yellow trim on the door with bright white door and side.

UV rays and plastic never did dance well together. You could say that the trim gets a tan.
I panted mine too. Adds a layer of UV protection to boot.

Inext month when I go to the factory I'll mention it to Randy and see if they will take care of it, and if not I will when I get home. This is about the color of the door window trim.

Awww, you guys! I'm just having one of those slap your head, "Why didn't I think of that moments". All this time, been cleaning mine with bleach solution to get 'em back white. Guess I'll be doing some spray painting in the next couple of weeks. Thanks.

I replaced my 2 exterior window frames and exhaust vent...then a guy on the open roads forum told me to get and use Aerospace 303 cleaner and protectant to keep it white. One guy said on that same forum, that they (RV Manufactures) use colonial white trim (frames, exhaust vents, etc...) rather than the polar white, which is what I bought to replace. Who Knows...

You'll see the yellowing problem on a lot of different trailers, because they use the same door companies. Our's hasn't yellow yet, but our last trailer did it in 2 years. So I'm expecting this one to do the same. Also, great idea on the white paint....

My door window trim is yellow but the stove vent is off white, right now. The door side must get more sun.

When I first read this topic, I was like what are you talking about? I walked out to my 5'er and it hit me, mine was yellow also. My stove vent was also yellow but not as much as the door, I also noticed that some of the clips that hold open your compartment doors was turning yellow.
