1st Time Camper
My wife and I are purchasing a 2015 Superlite 250RB TT. I too had to call several dealers and haggle with the price. The problem was that only the newer 2015 superlites have the front fiberglass cap on them (The early 2015's do not) and it was very difficult to find the one we wanted. And I did a lot of research on these things and noticed that many of the dealers or salesmen know very little about there product. However persistence pays off...we will be picking up our new trailer next week and the dealer is only about 4 hours away.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck on your new rv. I like the part where you say the dealer is ONLY 4 hours away.

We have a 32BH and love it. With that said I have wondered if I should have purchased a 27BH because it's lighter and shorter.

The Reserve line is very nice! I'm towing with an 04 Chevy Tahoe for now so size and weight were definitely a factor for me. The superlite seemed to be the right choice for us. Love the cart Bert!

I have to smile at the effort to match a trailer with your tow vehicle. This can end up being costly down the road. Our daughter bought a lightweight TT four years ago to match her tow vehicle, a Toyota SUV. Turns out the SUV was not as happy about the trailer as she was, so the next year she traded the SUV for a truck.
Then she decided the trailer wasn't big enough, so she wanted a bigger trailer, which the truck could tow. Only problem is she decided to go with a fifth wheel to get more trailer without increasing footprint. Truck has a short box. She how has a sliding hitch.
Had she known all the stuff that was going to transpire, I am sure she would have gone with a truck in the first place, one with a longer box.

Yes that stuff all happens.
All tho, I certainly don't see any problem with the having a short box and slider. There are a lot of people that don't want or need a long box, and the slider fits the bill with the shorter bed.

I'm living proof it happens tt bought for Nissan suv. Tt too much for suv, used f250 bought for tt. Great match then dreams of fivers begin and mechanical issues with truck. Truck not enough for desired fiver so 3 1/2 yrs into camping we now have a new 3500 and fiver. That said it doesn't happen to everyone. Many have been perfectly happy with their first tt and tv. Tahoes can be decent TV when matched appropriately to a trailer so don't let these stories get you down unless you come across handling issues. If you come across handling issues that's when the upgrade game usually begins.
What you have discovered about rv salesmen is all too common these days. I have taught rv salesmen things about trailers I was looking at many a time. I also could have won best about vehicle tow capacities with them. Sadly, I even knew more about true vehicle capabilities then my car salesman did. to be fair he was a self proclaimed camaro specialist which is what he told us when we bought DH's camaro from him.
Enjoy your trailer. May it bring you many wonderful camping memories. And definitely join in some of the rallies. Best thing I ever did was go to my first rally (mason Dixon bunch). We've gone every year since and made some great friends along the way.

I think the Tahoe will be ok. I have pulled a 25' center console boat with twin engines that weighed a little more than the trailer I am buying and I did not have any problems. And I'm not being cheap on the new WD hitch with dual sway control and brake set-up that I'm having installed. I have also installed the Air Lift 1000 air springs on the rear to help with rear sag since the tahoe has a little softer suspension. Not the best TV i could have but I think it will be fine for a while. I will let you know next weekend

Good luck with your new purchase. The Tahoe should do fine with your trailer. I towed our 29BH last year with my avalanche which did fine until we met the combination of a very hot day high 90's and a very long slow climb. It made it to the top but neither my wife nor I liked having to make the truck work so hard to climb it. We had the opportunity to upgrade so we took it.
EDIT: Invest in a good hitch, I love our Equalizer, makes towing a dream in either truck.
