Just returned from our inaugural trip to Hood River, OR for 5 days in our new sunset! Just under 500 miles round trip, smooth ride there and back, minus setting up in the rain. Great time, we hiked, fished, kyak’d and took the kids out swimming.
I did witness a nightmare scenario unfold next to me while packing everything up on our last day. Folks next to us were in a rental El Monte RV. The teenage son was tasked to empty the tanks. Somehow the dump hose was either not secured properly, or became dislodged. When I looked over this poor guy was desperately trying to reattach his hose battling against the full out pour of unholy water from the dump tank. My jaw literally hit the ground. After what seemed like 6-8 seconds, he closed the valves and quickly grabbed the water hose for damage control.
So what I learned from another’s misfortune, and what I share for everyone else new to the community (including myself) double check your hoses and connections prior to dumping.
Happy camping everyone
