New to us Sunset Trail
Hello everyone. Today my wife and I pick-up our new to us 2011 Sunset Trail 30RE. We have a plan to tour our beautiful country in the near future, once both us us are retired from full time jobs, and we bought the TT as our home for that purpose. We are not talking full time by any means. We are planning one big 2 or 3 month trip to the west and shorter trips for more eastern locations as we are located in NW PA. In the past we have owned a pop-up camper and a small (19') TT so this is quite a step up. Of course we will have two traveling companions, a medium size dog and a cat.
Our tow vehicle is a 2012 Toyota Tundra double cab with the 5.7L and an ARE capper which I have up-graded to LT rated tires and plan either Air Raid or K&N air box up-grade.
Have learned quite a bit so far reading these forums and look forward to learning more.

Congratulations on the TT upgrade. And welcome to the forum.
Retirement is great and gives you time to do all those things that you might have put off. Enjoy and safe travels.

Congrats on the new to you rig! Our camping history is very close to yours...tent, pop-up, 23' TT to current ST0BH. Our TVs are similar also. You'll get used to the transition. Enjoy your time out west. We went the other way, East, this past spring and after 2 months made the turn for home in Lancaster County.
Happy trails!

Welcome. Best of luck to you and your new camper. I'm sure you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. This forum is a great place for info and help. Lot's of good people on it with a lot of experience with Rv's. Ask and I'm sure someone will chime in with an answer.

Thanks to all for the welcomes. We safely got her home today. I am not going to say I did not know it was behind me, but it did tow very well.

Congrats. I also have a Tundra with an ARE cap pulling a ST29SS. Hope you build a lot of great memories in your travels.

Welcome, congrats on your purchase. Sounds like you will be doing what my wife and I did our first year. She just retired this year and we will be travelling the country come the spring. Good luck with your unit. Think about coming to the rally in July.
Travel well,
Jim

Mike,
Nice rig. Rally is tons of fun and it is cool to see the factory. We need new TV, so we can't go again this year .
I've considered seeing if campground has cabins to join the Factory Rally sans camper...highly recommend going.

@Eddy,
I know that Shipshewana North has cabins, I don't know if the South unit does. I'll try to check their website and let you know. How far from the rally do you live?
Jim

Shipshewana South RV
Eddy,
I just checked, the South RV Park does not have cabins of any kind from what I saw. Sorry
Travel well,
Jim
