Do they know something we don't know?

I recently spent four days at Manatee Hammock, a favorite little RV campground right across the water from the VAB at Kennedy Space Center.

We were sitting outside eating with friends when a thunderous roar erupted nearby.

Was Mr. Musk playing with one of his toys, Mr. Bezos perhaps ?

NO. it was this thing arriving like a cast off from an apocalypse movie. Do they know something we don't know ?

The owners were French, only spoke French, and were gone the following morning, so apart from politely waving my phone and making click click sounds in their direction which got a 'Oui, oui' from them I have no idea of what it was or where they were going.

I did manage to find out they originated from Chamonix a town I know on the Italy/France border.

If the Zombie thing is real, I'm definitely getting me one of these.

I believe that is a Unimog type of vehicle. Seen one here in Manitoba a couple of years ago. It was a family travelling around the world in one of those things. Very adventurous bunch, I'd say. They were from Germany. A friend of mine in Nova Scotia seen one this year come off a boat. The family was travelling Canada and the US. It may be the same family. I wonder what that beast gets for MPG.

Yakherder,

My guess it would probably be somewhere around 10 - 12 mpg, that big diesel would certainly not be too stressed even in the mountains I suspect.

BTW, let me commend you on your choice of tow vehicle...

That Rv is made in Germany and gets close to 8mpg. Here's a story about it. BTW price is around $1.5 million

Thanks mark5w

If I sold everything including my dog and beloved M/C, I might just be able to afford a set of tires for the thing. They'd last forever cuz I certainly couldn't afford the tires AND a tank full of diesel......
