We are taking a trip at end of this summer from mpls. to glacier park, banff-lake louise. Anyone have any thoughts about crossing MT. on US. HWY 2 or MT. HWY 200 as it would save many miles and hours drive time vs. I90.

If you are going to Banff-Lake Louise you should head up little to the north to Jasper. Not so commercialized as Banff. Whistler campground is a great place to camp in Jasper. Lots to see and enjoy the real wilderness. Lots of short trips you can see also a half day train ride into BC and then they bring you back by bus. Hope you enjoy your trip however far you go. Either route is fine if are are in no hurry. Hwy. 2 is pretty remote across the highline and not much to see but is astraight line to the park. Hwy. 200 is also remote in spots but you will see mountains sooner. Cell service will be spotty. Good luck!
