I don't even count States with the RV unless we actually spend at least one night. Even a Walmart parking lot counts as long as it is overnight.

I count any state I have been in, whether or not I slept there or whether or not the RV was there.

That is fine for states you have traveled however I believe the post is about travel in the RV.
I also have to spend an overnight to count a state as visited.

This is funny you guys are having this conversation. I bumped into a friend today and we spoke about our maps. She only counts states they slept in while we count even the ones we traveled through.

I only count the states I actually camp in. I dont even count the states I am traveling thru, even if I spend the night. One night at wallmart doesn't constitute camping in my mind.

To each his own, but if it's on your rv, why would you put those you didn't spend the night in ?
With that rule I should include the middle east and europe on my map since I was working in Iran for 2 years and traveled through Europe on motorcycles ?

Mine's not on the RV. It's only in Cyberspace.

Guess Hawaii is out if I have to spend a night in my RV. The darn thing just won't fit in the overhead compartment.

I too only include states I've camped in, but then again as slow as I travel I can't get through many states within 24 hours LOL.
I only put Hawaii on my map because I have been there and it felt good. Otherwise, we'll fill them in as we camp there...to each his own. I'm good with whatever anyone chooses.
Travel well, travel safe,
Jim

Where can you get the map to put on the RV? I remember as a kid always looking at the back of RV's on the road to see all the states colored in they had been to. Always said one day Id do the same but haven't seen the maps for sale anywhere...
This doesn't seem as popular as it used to be?

I read somewhere that it is not always a good idea to stick such a map on the RV because if you sell the unit later on, the buyers might not want that. The more you personalize any item, regardless of what it is, the harder it is to sell later on. If you never plan to sell it, then that is a non-issue.

If not easy to remove,
how about sticking it on a surface you can temporarily mount on the rv...
and that can be removed.

I removed one from an old rv. Used a hair dryer and it came off in one piece. Any leftover gunk was cleaned off with polish.
