Large Fuel Tank

Last week I installed a 62 gallon S&B fuel tank in my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. It replaces the 36 gallon factory tank. I also installed a Fass lift pump because Chevrolet did not install fuel pumps on the LML Duramax diesels. Instead, the injector pump sucked the fuel from the tank. A lift pump will extend the life of the injector pump.

I did the installation alone, and it went relatively smoothly. The worst parts were getting a face full of diesel fuel when separating one of the fuel line connectors and catching the drive shaft with my jaw when it dropped 2 feet after I separated it from the rear yoke. I still have a black eye from that, but the swelling of the jaw has subsided.

Having a 600+ mile range while towing, 1200+ while not towing, will be nice. That, paired with a fleet fuel card that gets the discounts the large truck fleets get, means I can be very selective on where I buy fuel.

Anyone interested in the fleet fuel card can PM me for more information.

Nice! Somehow they find a way to add 26 gallons to a tank and still fit it in place of the factory tank. It would be nice to have, but I’m not sure I’m ready to do it at this time. I have been considering getting a lift pump though. I have a 2013 Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab.

Don't forget you just reduced your truck payload by 182 pounds.
